Objective: The present research investigates the link between aspects of a learning organization with job burnout among librarians working in NLAI. Methodology: A survey method was employed. Data were collected using Demographic Characterization questionnaire, Marsick and Watkins Dimension of the Learning Organization Questionnaire (DLQQ) and Maslash Burnout Inventory. Sample included all NLAI librarians. Findings: Findings indicated that there is a negative significance between the seven dimensions of learning organizations and emotional fatigue. While investigating the links between dimensions of learning organization with the dimension of metempsychosis, a negative significance was observed only between the dimension of “established systems for acquiring and sharing learning” and “provision of strategic leadership for learning”. Furthermore, individual performance displayed a positive significance with dimensions of “established systems for acquiring and sharing learning”, ‘Empowerment for achieving common prospect”, “learning organization link with environment” and “Provision of strategic leadership for learning”.

Objective: The present study investigates the linkage between personality profile of librarians and information professionals working at special and research libraries in metropolitan Tehran with their job satisfaction. Methodology: A survey was conducted using NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) as well as Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS) as data collection instruments. Sample was drawn from those librarians and information professionals who were currently employed with a special or research library in Tehran, Findings: Data analysis indicated that neuroticism and agreeableness have negative significance with the overall job satisfaction. Findings do not indicate any significance between job satisfaction with demographics such as age and work experience. They further indicate that men demonstrate more satisfaction with their jobs than women.

Objective: The present paper studies the role played by school libraries in students’ academic performance and bonding with the school. Methodology: A survey was carried out using an author-constructed questionnaire. Samples were drawn from 2010-2011 primary, guidance and high school students in the city of Ardebil. 776 students were selected using proper cluster sampling. Findings: There is a very low rate of school library utilization by students. 417 students within the sample population had never used school library. The status of school libraries given the number of books, area, skilled manpower and facilities were considered by the students to be very low. A significantly positive link was found between the school library usage levels with students bonding with the school. A similar link was found between school library usage and students’ academic performance. A best fit model is presented

Objective: The present investigation intends to identify the marketing techniques employed within the websites set up by central libraries of Iranian Universities. Methodology: An analytical survey was used. An evaluation checklist was constructed through literature survey and experts’ consultations for data collection. Findings: The investigation demonstrated that the website studied do not employ a high level of marketing techniques. The deployment of such techniques is comparatively better in the state universities than private universities

Objective: The present investigation aims to determine the gap between users, understanding and expectation of services received with staff presumptions regarding their expectations. Methodology: LibQual questionnaire comprising of 23 indicators grouped into three dimensions (Service impact, information control and library as a locality and space) was used in this research. Findings: From the standpoint of users, library staff and resources have to some extent been able to fulfill expectations of users in the least regarding some cases. Staffs presume that users expect them to be more willing to answer their queries and that the resources available have to some extent been able to meet the least expectations of users. They further presume that patrons have lesser expectation of library to serve as a social space contusive to group learning. Whereas, the patrons have considered a social space for group learning and study as being imperative.

Purpose: This study has tried to evaluate the performance of libraries affiliated with IAU – Tehran Science and Research branch using the Sears model. Methodology: The methodology was survey and the population consisted of 42 librarians and 191 library users. Data were gathered using 8 questionnaires based on Sear’s model. Findings: The research results show that the average value for librarians Job satisfaction is 19, for Self-Efficacy is 49.6 and for Organization Commitment is 99.9 which are quite high. The mean performance was 74.2 which are close to average. The findings also show that the Service Quality for the libraries is (26.3 and 55.2) which has resulted in relatively high Customer Satisfaction (54.7) and Customer Loyalty (17.7) toward the services received from the libraries of the IAU-Science and research faculty. The utilization of this methodology in evaluating the performance of libraries is new in Iran and its findings will give the librarians and owners of the libraries accurate and valuable information regarding their performance and will help them recognize their weak points/areas for improvements.-AA.
