The central library and doucumentation center of the university of Tehran is one of the biggest and richest academic libraries of Iran. As much as possible, the present paper deals with the history, structure and retrieval services of the cataloging department of the central library. Finally it refers to the present activities and retrieval servieces of the cataloging department.
