"Library materials and services for children and young adults" is among the courses that is taught to the undergraduate students in library and
information science. Literary criticism of library materrials for children and young adults is a topic in this course. The book '_n overview of the
children's literature" is one of the sources selected for this course in the "Program syllabus for library and information science in two branches:
humanities and physical sciences". Some criteria have been presented on the external and internal criticism of materials for children and young

adults that seem to be repeated in recent publications on children's literature. The present article, after consideration of the effeciency of these
criteria by comparison of the criteria with themselves as well other some publications on the topic, clarifies their weak points and presents a new
method for literary criticism of the materials for children and young adults.
