The lack of a national information system in Iran as a harmonizing,





collaborating and policy - making system in higher level has produced a lot of problems in the way of the achievement of the other national systems in the lower levels.
The coordination of information storage and retrieval systems, compilation of standards, bibliographic control, best use of hardware









































and software equipment, suitable communication and the other decisive elements functioning as prerequisites of the national information center,
are of the most important duties of the national information system, which causes lots of information disorders. In order to maintain the
main goals of having the national medical information center, seems to have first a medical librarianship and information center needed as a
mother center or a coordinator. In this research the organization and duties of each part and sections of such a proposed center are explained
in detail.
