Abstract

The article is an introduction to the Buffalo Free-Net which has been designed both to provide training facilities to the librarians, as well as to store and retrieve information. The strength of a Community linked to a network is in direct proportion to the availability of relevant personnel at all levels to take advantage of these facilities. It is for the community
to decide that the network should provide what facilities and it is she which gears the system to respond to its requirements. One of the segments of this community is composed of librarians who on the one hand rely on the system as a source of reference, and on the other, play
an important role in furnishing it with the requisite information.
