The purpose of this survey is a quantitaive report of the specialized
personnel in libraries of Tehran University. The increase in infonnation materials and the large number of acceptance of students cause an increase in the need of processed infonnation and services. The hypothesis
is that these libraries lack the required staff to offer the infonnation se/Vices. Data were gathered from all libraries by aquestionaire. They were summarized in tables and compared with the standards of college and
university libraries. The results were ana lysed and some suggestions are offered for their improvement.
