The results of the study indicate the highest motivation of the students in searching for information is to acquire general knowledge, to make use of information resources to carry out their studies and to update their knowledge, and to get specific information. There is also no significant difference between the academic groups of the study(humanities, medical science, science, engineering, technical, and agricultural groups). Although most of the subjects used formal and informal methods to get information, formal methods are more frequently used than in formal ones. Further more, the students make use of printed sources more than unprinted ones. Inadequacy of library sources unfamiliarity with foreign languages, and shortage of time are the main reasons of harriers and shortcomings in achieving the required information respectively. Moreover the results of the study which aimed at finding out about the impacts of instructors also indicated that the instructors are influential through their teaching methods and introducing the sources.
