Conceptualizing the "access to information" Process and Representing a combined model: some consequences of technology on access

Abstract

Access is defined as the entrance right to a library or an archive and its collections. "Access to information" affects our life from different aspects. "Access" element is involved in various fields, thus, we need to recognize its different aspects, because we are dealing with them and they explicitly or implicitly influence on our daily affairs. In this article, first types of "Access process" and its obstacles are discussed and "Access Management" and its functions described. Then, conceptualizing the Access to information process in research and academic literature are analyzed and implications of these concepts are stated. Next constraints and motivators of access to information process are recognized and a combined model of elements involved in this process is represented. Finally, information technology emergence and some consequences of technology on access to information process are presented
