Due to the increasing spread of social networking users, these networks have become a vital part of user life and have important implications for users' scientific, social and cultural backgrounds. The purpose of this research is to determine the difference between students on information literacy and research motivation. Materials and Methods: The statistical population of this study was Shahid Madani University Tabriz during the academic year 2016-2017. Using Cochran's formula, 365 individuals were selected as sample. Sampling was done by stratified sampling method. Data analysis was performed using SPSS20 and LISRAL8.5 software based on correlation, MANOVA and diagnostic function. Results: According to the research results, the relationship between social networks with information literacy and research motivation was 0.46 and 0.36 respectively. In the study of gender difference, the difference in the variable of research motivation was significant. In terms of motivation, three groups were identified as having internal motivation of 5%, external motivation of 0.3 and impulsivity of 11.1. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this research, graduates are required to acquire knowledge and information in order to benefit from social networks, which will determine their motivation and motivation to use these networks.
