Evaluation of the Use of Graduate Students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz from Personal Knowledge Management Skills Based on Cheong and Tsui Models

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the extent to which graduate students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz have personal knowledge management skills based on the model of Cheung and Tsui (2010) to provide solutions to improve and enhance their skills.
Methodology: This research is of descriptive and analytical type and its survey method. Pabakhsh questionnaire (2016) was used. The research population is the master and doctoral students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz who started their studies in the academic year 2017-2018. The sample size was 351 according to Krejcie and Morgan table. Descriptive and inferential statistical tests were performed to analyze the data using the SPSS statistical software.
Findings: Data analysis showed that the situation of graduate students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in terms of personal knowledge management skills is equal to an average of 3.50, which has been evaluated at a relatively desirable level according to the Likert scale. In other words, in "interpersonal knowledge transfer", "personal wisdom creation", "personal knowledge internalization" and "personal information management" are at a relatively desirable level. In addition, among the studied skills, graduate students had the most information in presentation skills and the least information retrieval and analysis.
Conclusion: Considering that the level of students' personal knowledge management skills was determined at a relatively desirable level, it is necessary to teach them the skills. Empowering them with such skills helps them make decisions, solve problems, increase efficiency, and achieve personal goals.
