The articles comprises the Persian translation of the Chapters 6 of Sizgin's book, Geschichte des arbischen Schripttums which is one of the most comprehensive sources of refernce on Arabic works. In these two chapters the author traces the development of Islamic mysticism and dilecticism and while doing so reviews the contributions of earlier scholars and orientalists. In the section dealing with dilecticism, the author introduces 22 jurists and traditionists and 24 Mu'tazilites scholars, while the chapter on mysticism introduces 64 eminent Sufis.
