Subject analysis of the dissertations of a discipline in a clear distinguished period of time, depicts a picture and illustrates the research activities of that area.
In this article, an excerpt of doctoral dissertations in library and information sciences of foreign countries (177 titles) in a five years period (1999-1999) has been studied. the results of this subject analytical study
depicts the interested areas of research of the discipline in these years. Most of the subjects tend to infonnation technology, communication and their related topics. In addition, computer sciences has the most influences
upon these dissertation. Of different kinds of libraries, academic libraries had the first priority. At the end, some samples of the studied dissertation
were offered as proposed subject reserches in this country.
