Purpose: the present study aims to investigate Information Literacy Self-efficacy in post graduate student of Shahed University, Iran. In doing so, a review of literature concerning the main concepts of self-efficacy, Information Literacy Self-efficacy has been conducted in advance.
Methodology: survey- descriptive method was used using a highly validated 28 item scale developed by Kurbanoglu, S, Akkoyunlu. The scale measures Information Literacy Self-efficacy in eight dimensions namely identifying, locating, assessing, interpreting, communicating and evaluating. The scale was distributed among 210 student and the data were analyzed by SPSS and PLS.
Findings: factor analysis shows a high factor loading related to all of the items indicating goodness of fit of the questions. Relationships between variables are significant by 95% degree of confidence. Model’s goodness of fit ranges self-efficacy of the students around 63%.
Conclusion: Information Literacy Self-efficacy Scale was validated according to structural an overall goodness of fit showing a high quality on measuring the variable in the context studied. The students felt a high degree of self-efficacy related to Information Literacy dimensions among which communicating and assessing were high and identifying and locating were low.
