Objective: The aim of the current study is to examine the attitude, motivations, and barriers of knowledge sharing behavior among postgraduate students of Tabriz University.
Methods: The research method is descriptive-survey. The statistical population of the present study is 6223 postgraduate students of Tabriz University, and 374 people were selected as the sample using relative stratified sampling method according to Krejci-Morgan table. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire, which its the validity was confirmed by experts in knowledge and information science and its reliability was calculated by Cronbach's alpha equal to 82.9%. In addition to descriptive and inferential statistics, independent t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient and linear regression were used in the SPSS version 24 software environment for data analysis.
Results: The findings of the research showed that the age, gender and major academic groups of the respondents had an effect on their knowledge sharing behavior, but the level of education did not affect. The results of Pearson's correlation coefficient showed that there was a significant relationship between the amount of knowledge sharing and the components of "attitude, motivation, barriers, resources, types of information, and knowledge sharing channels". Also, the results of multiple regression analysis showed that among all the independent variables, "attitude towards sharing knowledge", "types of shared information and knowledge" and "motivation to share knowledge" were entered into the equation, which in total 19% of the changes related to sharing knowledge, are explained by these 3 components.
Conclusion: Knowledge sharing can facilitate the exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge among students and lead to the expansion of knowledge and deeper understanding of the studied subjects. In general, if knowledge sharing among postgraduate students of Tabriz University is implemented, it can help to achieve the educational and research goals of the university.
