نگرش نسبت به خواندن آزاد: تحلیل نقش عوامل جامعه‌شناختی

چکیده

هدف: خواندن آزاد به‌عنوان یکی از مهم‌ترین فعالیت‌های فرهنگی، نقش محوری در توسعۀ فکری، اجتماعی و فرهنگی جوامع دارد. شناخت عوامل مؤثر بر نگرش افراد نسبت به این نوع خواندن، به‌ویژه در مناطق کمتر برخوردار، می‌تواند زمینه‌ساز سیاست‌گذاری‌های فرهنگی اثربخش شود. پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی رابطه میان سرمایه‌های فرهنگی، اجتماعی، اقتصادی و متغیر جنسیت با نگرش نسبت به خواندن آزاد در میان شهروندان باسواد بالای ۱۵ سال شهر خرمشهر انجام شده است.
روش‌: این مطالعه از نوع بنیادی و از نظر روش، توصیفی-همبستگی با رویکرد پیمایشی است. جامعه آماری شامل تمامی شهروندان باسواد بالای ۱۵ سال ساکن خرمشهر (۹۶۰۵۱ نفر) بود. نمونه‌گیری به روش تصادفی چندمرحله‌ای و متناسب با سهم جمعیتی مناطق انجام شد و درمجموع ۴۰۶ پرسشنامه توزیع گردید. ابزار گردآوری داده‌ها شامل پرسشنامه‌های استاندارد سرمایۀ فرهنگی بوردیو، سرمایۀ اجتماعی، سرمایۀ اقتصادی و نگرش نسبت به خواندن آزاد بود. داده‌ها با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS نسخه ۲۶ تحلیل شدند. در سطح توصیفی از شاخص‌های آماری مانند میانگین و درصد و در سطح استنباطی از آزمون همبستگی پیرسون و تحلیل رگرسیون چندمتغیره بهره گرفته شد. نرمال بودن توزیع داده‌ها با استفاده از آزمون کولموگروف-اسمیرنوف تأیید شد.
یافته‌ها: بر اساس نتایج به‌دست‌آمده، بین سرمایۀ فرهنگی و نگرش به خواندن آزاد رابطه‌ای مثبت و معنادار وجود دارد (ضریب همبستگی ۱۴۸/۰، سطح معناداری ۰۰۳/۰). این نتیجه نشان می‌دهد که افزایش سرمایۀ فرهنگی با بهبود نگرش افراد نسبت به خواندن آزاد همراه است. همچنین، میان سرمایۀ اجتماعی و نگرش نسبت به خواندن آزاد نیز رابطه‌ای مثبت و معنادار مشاهده شد (ضریب همبستگی ۱۵۹/۰، سطح معناداری ۰۰۲/۰)، به‌گونه‌ای که هرچه سطح سرمایۀ اجتماعی افراد بالاتر باشد، نگرش آنها نسبت به خواندن آزاد نیز مثبت‌تر خواهد بود. در مورد سرمایۀ اقتصادی نیز یافته‌ها نشانگر وجود رابطه‌ای معنادار و مثبت با نگرش به خواندن آزاد هستند (ضریب همبستگی ۲۵۹/۰، سطح معناداری ۰۰۰/۰). مقدار ضریب همبستگی چندگانه برابر با ۳۲۳/۰ است که نشان‌دهنده میزان همبستگی بین ترکیب خطی متغیرهای مستقل و متغیر وابسته (نگرش به خواندن آزاد) است. ضریب تعیین  برابر با ۱۰۴/۰ نشان می‌دهد که حدود ۱۰ درصد از واریانس متغیر وابسته توسط ترکیب چهار متغیر مستقل قابل تبیین است. همچنین ضریب تعیین تعدیل‌شده که در شرایطی با حجم نمونه کوچک اهمیت بیشتری دارد، برابر با ۰۹۷/۰ به‌دست آمده است که نشان می‌دهد متغیرهای وارد شده به مدل از کفایت مناسبی برخوردارند.
نتیجه‌گیری: بر این اساس، می‌توان نتیجه گرفت که ارتقای نگرش افراد نسبت به خواندن آزاد نیازمند توجه به این ابعاد جامعه‌شناختی است. در بافتی مانند خرمشهر، که ویژگی‌های فرهنگی، اجتماعی و اقتصادی خاصی دارد، تقویت این سرمایه‌ها می‌تواند بستری مؤثر برای رشد فرهنگ مطالعه فراهم آورد. سیاست‌گذاری فرهنگی در این زمینه باید متناسب با واقعیت‌های اجتماعی و اقتصادی جامعه طراحی شود و درعین‌حال، به تفاوت‌های جنسیتی و نقش آنها در تمایلات مطالعاتی نیز توجه داشته باشد. در نهایت، توسعه متوازن سرمایه‌های فرهنگی، اجتماعی و اقتصادی می‌تواند به‌عنوان راهبردی کلیدی برای بهبود نگرش عمومی به خواندن و ارتقای جایگاه آن در سبک زندگی شهروندان مورد توجه قرار گیرد.

Objective: Objective: Leisure reading is one of the most vital cultural activities, playing a central role in individuals’ intellectual, social, and cultural development. Understanding the factors that influence attitudes toward leisure reading, particularly in under-resourced regions, can provide valuable insights for effective cultural policymaking. This study aims to examine how cultural, social, and economic capital, as well as gender, relate to attitudes toward leisure reading among literate citizens aged 15 and above in the city of Khorramshahr, Iran.
Method: This study employed a descriptive-correlational design using a survey approach. The statistical population comprised all literate individuals over the age of 15 in Khorramshahr (N = 96,051). A multi-stage random sampling method, proportional to the population distribution across the city's zones, was used, resulting in the distribution of 406 questionnaires. Standardized and validated questionnaires were administered to measure four key constructs: Bourdieu’s dimensions of cultural capital, indicators of social capital, indicators of economic capital, and individuals’ attitudes toward leisure reading. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 26. Descriptive statistics (means, percentages) and inferential statistics (Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression) were employed. Normality of the data was verified using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test.
Results: The results revealed a significant positive correlation between cultural capital and attitudes toward leisure reading (r = 0.148, p = 0.003), suggesting that greater cultural capital is associated with more favorable reading attitudes. Similarly, social capital (r = 0.159, p = 0.002) and economic capital (r = 0.259, p < 0.001) showed significant positive correlations with reading attitudes. Gender also exhibited a statistically significant relationship with attitudes toward reading. The multiple correlation coefficient (R = 0.323) indicated a moderate level of association between the combined independent variables and the dependent variable. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.104) showed that approximately 10% of the variance in attitudes toward leisure reading could be explained by the combination of the four sociological variables. The adjusted R² (0.097) confirmed the model’s adequacy considering the sample size.
Conclusions: The findings suggest that improving attitudes toward leisure reading requires strategic attention to key sociological variables. In contexts such as Khorramshahr, where unique social, cultural, and economic conditions prevail, strengthening these forms of capital can serve as a foundation for promoting a culture of reading. Effective cultural policy must be tailored to the socio-economic realities of the population and consider gender-related differences in reading preferences. Ultimately, the balanced development of cultural, social, and economic capital can act as a strategic mechanism to enhance public attitudes toward reading and integrate it more deeply into the daily lives of citizens.
