The present survey attempts to study and to interpret the use of public libraries by the students of high school in shiraz. The study also
attempts to assess the contribution of teachers and librarians to the students use of public libraries. Population is leter mined by stratified
randam sampling technique. Questionaires and interviews were used to collect data from a sample population of 800 students. Collected data
was computerized by Pel package and analysed by SPSS. Important findings as revealed by the data analysis showes that 76 percent of high
school students do not use public libraries to get information. The
libraries are merely used for reading textbooks and classnotes.
