Purpose: This paper considers the concept and background of oral history in internal and external references. Also it studies necessity, importance and agents of arising and developing oral history in the field of archives.
Methodology: This research uses library and document method and its database is provided via resources in prominent libraries, databases and websites related to oral history subject.
Findings: Nowadays oral history becomes known as one of the important and effective methods in historical researches. Interview is the most important base of oral history. The effect of revolutions and political changes, produces of industrial revolution and creativity of some historians are the agents of arising and developing oral history in the field of archive. Then classification, preparation and assessment of oral history sources are discussed.
