This article is the report of a survey conducted to offer "The State of Art" of the libraries of the Islamic Azad University, Tehran North Branch.
The methodology used in this survey is data-gathering process which is based on the collection of data from 8 libraries of this university. The instrument of the data collection was a questionnaire with 9 parts.
Data are represented in tables and then they are analyzed to answer the main questions of the survey. At the end an improvement model according to the Standards of the University Libraries in Iran for calculating and estimating the collection, staff, space, budget, facilities and services, through quantitative guidelines is proposed, in order to be used in future improvements of these libraries
