Aim: Iranian National Library “Printed Books” worksheet was compared with the last updated versions of UNIMARC and MARC21. Comparison with UNIMARC was done to show the differences and deficiencies and comparison with MARC21 should be done to reveal the unused fields that can complete and enrich the printed book's worksheet of National Library.
Methodology: Due to the basis of IranMARC is UNIMARC, printed book's worksheet of National Library was compared at first with the fields and subfields were identified and extracted from the last updated version of UNIMARC to reveal the differences and then with MARC21 to show the differences and deficiencies. For doing this step of research (comparison with MARC21), researcher did a MARC Mappings for conversion and adaption of Marc21 to UNIMARC and prepared a table for them.
Results: Comparison of printed book’s worksheet of National Library with MARC 21 and UNIMARC formats revealed that book worksheet didn’t have 57 fields and 32 subfields of UNIMARC and 32 fields of MARC 21.
